Get Ready to Get SPOOKY!

Bowie's face in this photo = the excitement I'm feeling as I'm editing the Halloween minis and preparing them for my guests. Oooooh, can't wait to share more from this event with the world.

(Also, Elly the Wood Witch in the background here? Ultra creepy, just as I had intended her to be. Good job, Elly. You can live in my yard forever, as far as I'm concerned.)

Stay tuned over the next few days as I unveil all the spooky fun we had at this year's Halloween mini sessions!

Mini-Sessions Ahoy!

Pssst...mark your calendars, because we're thrilled to announce the dates for our 2017 fall and winter mini session events!

First off, we're bringing back our annual Halloween minis on Saturday, September 23rd. It's never too early to start planning your costume and to prepare for the best holiday of they year, so save the date and get ready to get spooky!

Up next, we are so excited that the one and only Santa Jim will be with us yet again this holiday season for our annual mini-session portrait event! Three dates this year: November 19th, November 26th, and December 3rd. It's a perfect time to plan ahead and start campaigning for your spot on Santa's Nice List!

Yes, we know it's early to be thinking about these things, but with our 2017 calendar rapidly filling up and a ton of stuff booking, and with tons of inquiries rolling in for when these events would be taking place, it just seemed smart to get them on the calendar and make them official.

We will be opening up the booking and sharing more info on locations, appointment times, and details for both the Halloween minis and the Santa minis soon. For now, save the dates, and we hope to see you!

Quick Summer Update!

Holy jeez, how did we get to the end of July already? Since it's super hot out and we're all about to melt, I'll make this quick so you can get back into the pool or back by the fan or however you're keeping yourselves from combusting this summer. Here are a couple of quick updates from the world of RSP!

First, we're setting up for the early fall portrait season. As always, October is tough because of that little Halloween thing I do that takes up most of my time, so if you're in need of portrait or event photography this fall, please get your requests in ASAP! I am limited on the number of appointments I have left and it's first come first served, so the longer you wait, the less options there will be available for you.

While we're on the topic of fall portraits, I'm strongly leaning toward doing a 3rd annual Halloween Mini-session event day. This would be taking place in late September; stay tuned here and to our Facebook page for more info, date possibilities, and booking specifics. This will be an extremely limited engagement; usually I only take six appointments for this event, so if you think you want one, drop me a line and I'll keep you in the loop.

To those of you who took advantage of our July Print Special, your packages are shipping this week! You'll receive the tracking info in your e-mail confirmation once your prints are on their way to you! For those of you who missed out on this promotion, well...I said I wouldn't do another sale during 2014, but maybe if I'm feeling generous I'll toss one out there during the holidays. We shall see.

Speaking of the holiday season, I have several early-birdies who have already snapped up their appointments for holiday portraits. It's never too early to secure your date, so even though it's roughly 8 billion degrees outside and it's hard to imagine that it will ever get cooler outside, we can get into the Christmas spirit by planning your session well in advance. There are still appointments left in December and a few left in November, so talk to me soon if you want to check what's left and get yours reserved!

As always, you can keep up with us here on the blog, through our facebook page (www.facebook.com/rachelsullivanphotography), and of course on the website at www.rachelsullivanphotography.com. We'll keep you up to date on the latest news, events, promotions, and exciting things as we roll on through the back half of 2014. And as always, we're so appreciative of our ever-growing family of clients and for the continued word of mouth and positive recommendations. You are all so wonderful!

Stay cool out there, and don't hesitate to drop us a line for questions and booking!

A Little Nostalgia

I am finishing up my most recent wedding (and adoring the results, squeee) as well as the portraits from the end of December, and it struck me in passing: I sure do miss HHN. This isn't surprising; it's never far from my mind. I just assumed that I must be getting a little bit of wintery cabin fever and missing my happy haunted home.

Then as if your Spidey-senses were tingling, a bunch of you reached out to me seeking photos from this year's event, scare zones, and houses. It appears that I am not the only one feeling wistfully nostalgic for the land of fog and fright.

Never fear, spooky friends. As soon as I am clear of these last few things that I am working on from the latter part of 2013, I will be returning with gusto to complete the remainder of the Halloween Horror Nights photography from this past year, and your patience will be rewarded.

Soon.

Falling Through Fall

I say this every year, when I hit my high stress levels as fall gets deeper and deeper into its crazy throes, that I shouldn't shoot weddings in the Autumn. Never, never again, I tell myself, and then every year I have a fit of amnesia and forget how hard it is to try and post-process a wedding in a timely and efficient manner while also dealing with HHN, portraits, and the pre-holiday rush, and I do it all again. This year I double-whammied myself with one wedding in September and then another one less than three weeks after that in early October. Add those to my Horror Nights shot load and various other things and toss in an early November wedding that I just photographed, and I'm just about at my max right now...and I still have the Horror Nights party circuit to assist with planning and execution of. Yeesh. At least I'm conditioned for low amounts of sleep...that's my saving grace.

So I say it here, committing it to digital paper: never, never again. Until next year when I inevitably forget.

Even still, check out some of these beauties from my recent weddings. They ARE quite pretty...I suppose that makes it all okay.

Tidbits and News and Info and Things

Just an update for you guys as summer winds down and the Big Bad Machine of Autumn grinds its gears and readies itself for action:

--Need a portrait or session of any kind during November and December? Speak up soon. November is nearly full and December is following suit. As always I book on a first come first served basis; once the sessions are full, it'll be all over but the crying for you.

--Yes, I WILL be doing a Halloween Mini-Session day, in either late September or early October. I am waiting on a few things to nail down a date for this. Most of all, this date will be determined by the arrival of one Miss Charley Regan Sanders, who is due around Labor Day (how appropriate) and her ensuing newborn portraits; Charley will take precedence and once I have a better idea of when we'll be shooting her session, I'll be more able to communicate a date for the Halloween mini-sessions. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience on this one! You won't regret it.

--Yes, HHN is right around the corner, and if you really have to ask if I'll be there, well sir, you must not know me at all. We're getting closer and closer to Opening Scareamonies (31 days, not that we're counting or anything) and we can't wait for the beginning of yet another amazing year of Halloween Horror Nights. Want more info? Visit www.halloweenhorrornights.com/Orlando and keep an eye on the Universal Orlando Facebook over the next few weeks for info on this year's event. I'll be there with freakin' bells on...join me, won't you?

--And finally, I am going to do another Buy-One-Get-One-Free print sale in the fall. Probably starting this promo in late September; I always have such a great response to these promotions and people have been asking when I'll do it again, so I'm going to reward you guys with some BOGO goodness, from me to you. Details and ordering info coming down the pike soon.

Any other questions, comments, concerns, or good jokes? You know where to find me. Drop me a line at rsullivanphotography@gmail.com or visit us on www.facebook.com/rachelsullivanphotography to keep up to date on the latest news, photos, and information. Hey, maybe I'll even throw YOU a joke or two. (Now the pressure is on for me to think of something funny...dagnabit.)
